Finally we had a day with manageable wind! I think I would have called it wind before, but after what we’d experienced the week before, this felt like a breeze.
The upper Oregon coast proved to be beautiful and filled with rolling hills, winding roads, and dairy farms.
The closer we got to Tilamook, the more excited we were to do some cheese tasting! We toured the factory, ate way more dairy than we have in a while, and got back on the road.
The north bit of the coast takes you to Astoria, where we crossed the largest and longest bridge I’ve ever been on.
We wound our way up the Long Island peninsula in Washington, to find Cape Disappointment-not kidding, that’s the name! And although it is so pretty, there is very limited tent camping.
But we found a mom’n pop rv park with tent sites and experienced our first wake up to the rain.
When nature gives you cool weather-you go out for breakfast 🙂 today is technically Day 9, but just wanted to give you a quick synopsis on yesterday’s ride… Our eggs are on their way and I hear Gangsters Paradise from the kitchen… Breakfast is going to be good!!!
Say hello to Victoria for me! Gretchen and Margaret following your journey.
We are loving Victoria! Post coming soon 🙂 I’ve had enough coffee and am ready to type!
