On December 31, 2019, local time in Nepal, on the occasion of New Year's Day of 2020, colorful flags fluttered in the main camp B of Nepal Rasuwa Bhotekoshi hydropower project in Nepal, and the crowd was surging. The commencement ceremony of the principle works of Rasuwa Bhotekoshi hydropower project, the largest installed capacity project invested by (Shuifa Group) Sichuan Hechuan Investment Co.Ltd.in Nepal was successfully held at 10:18.  
Mr. Liu Jianxin, chairman of SHIC, and Mr.Tian Jiayuan(general manager), Jing Zheng(deputy general manager), Mr.Li Zhi(project manager), Mr.Zhu Zhiwen(director of Shandong Huaihai Engineering Construction Supervision Co., Ltd), responsible persons from Sinohydro Bureau7 Co., Ltd, as well as Mr. Dipak Khadka(local partner , Former St.Minister of Nepal), Mr. Kane Lamar(chairman of Nepal Communist Party of Rasuwa region), Mr. Pemba Qulin Tamang(chairman of Nepal Congress Party of Rasuwa region), Mr. Kaisang Nurpu Tamang(chairman of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality), Ms. Galgorm Srishta(vice chairman of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality) and other honorable guests. Reporters from NTV, Kathmandu TV station and chiefs of local authorities such as military, customs, Forest Protection Bureau and other relevant units were also invited to attend it. 
At the ceremony, Mr. Liu Jianxin solemnly announced commencement of the main work of Rasuwa Bhotekoshi hydropower project. He stressed that Rasuwa Bhotekoshi hydropower project was an overseas project highly valued by Shuifa Group and Shuifa Huaxia Group company. Sichuan Hechuan Investment company would work together with all participating parties, coordinate with the government authorities of Nepal to implement the project construction as soon as possible, complete the construction as scheduled and start commercial operation at an early date. In his speech, Mr. Dipak Khadka, a member of the parliament of Nepal, also said that construction of Nepal's Rasuwa Bhotekoshi hydropower project would bring more jobs and business opportunities to the local area, which is of great significance for promoting the local economic development. The government departments and their political parties would give full support and help to the project construction, and wished the project a smooth start and an early commercial operation. Other guests seated on the rostrum also delivered speeches successively, expressing heartfelt congratulations and good wishes for commencement of the main works of Rasuwa Bhotekoshi hydropower project.
After the event, Mr.Liu Jianxin, chairman of SHIC, had an interview with reporters from NTV and Kathmandu TV station. He said that during the development and construction of Rasuwa Bhotekoshi hydropower project, SHIC of Shuifa Group had been actively practicing the important spirit of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative put forward by President Xi Jin Ping and carefully carried out the strategic plan of Shuifa group. In the future, the company would uphold the development concept of ‘building a hydropower station, boosting local economy, improving local environment, and benefiting local people’.The company will simultaneously develop economic, social and ecologic benefits to help Nepal’s local economic development and provide high-quality clean energy. 
It is reported that Rasuwa Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project is located on Bhotekoshi river near the border of Gyirong port linking China and Nepal. A highway, starting from Gyirong port to Kathmandu,the capital of Nepal, and the main city of Porkhara, enables access to the head work and the powerhouse area. With generation flow of 86.75m3/s, the net head of 164.21m, the project has an installed capacity of 120MW and supposed to reach an annual generating capacity of 692m kWh. It is estimated that electricity of 664m kWh will be sold yearly,which will generate annual sales revenue of 39.865m US dollars.
Till date, through comprehensive and detailed preparation, the project has been on the right track ,and all construction works proceeded in an orderly manner. It is expected to begin commercial operation in June 2022.
 
As one of China’s the larger hydropower projects in Nepal, Rasuwa Bhotekoshi hydropower project has been greatly supported and appreciated by both governments. In 2017, Sichuan province included it in its key project data-base of ‘Belt and Road’. It embodies the responsibility of our group’s going global strategy. Its construction triggered the boom of construction, transportation, steel, cement, and other local industries. After completing construction, it will mainly supply electricity to the national grid of Nepal, which will make an important contribution to promote local socioeconomic development in Nepal.
